J. Stevens Arms Company (Savage) "Model 55" single shot bolt action Buckhorn Rifle in .22 LR.
Single shot, bolt action, blued finish, one-piece lacquered wood stock with a pistol grip, black plastic serrated buttplate, front and adjustable rear peep sights. 24" long barrel, 43.25" long overall.
Research indicates that the Stevens Model 55 was made 1935-1936 and that only 3,500 of them were produced. No serial number.
Overall in good condition. Minor dings/wear on the wood stock that you'd expect from use. No cracks. Refer to pics for condition (we are limited to posting 10 photos- more can be provided upon request).
Markings on top of barrel read "STEVENS MODEL 55", "Manufactured by J. Stevens Arms Copmany", "Chicopee Falls, Mass. U.S.A Cal .22 S.L. or L.R.". Underside of barrel reads "STEVENS Buckhorn Rifle".
On consignment from a local estate. Has not been test fired by K3 Armory but we were told it functioned perfectly. Sold as is. More photos available upon request.
